MANT proposes to establish a weather station at high spatial resolution for weather data collection at the village level, analysis by nearby Agriculture University or expert groups, and forecasting the same to alert the farming community on weather-related risks. This is expected to help the farmers to develop their adaptive capacity to make improved planning and better management decisions. The messages will be broadcast through community radio (already in place) for the communities in the local language (Bengali and Santhali). The system which will be promoted through this intervention will be locally generated, monitored, and transferred.
